Sleeping Correctly Helps Prevent Neck and Shoulder Pain

One of the causes for neck and shoulder pain is not sleeping correctly. Just like people can wake up with a back ache after sleeping on a surface that doesn’t provide proper support, sleeping on the wrong type of pillow can wake a person to neck and shoulder pain. For that reason, using a good neck support pillow, designed to keep the neck in an ergonomically correct position, is an important aspect of preventing neck and shoulder pain.

Many people have made the mistake in thinking that a good bed is all they need for a wonderful night’s sleep. Unfortunately, this is far from true. No matter how good the bed is, a good pillow is still needed—particularly for anyone who consistently wakes to shoulder or neck pain.

Often times a person wakes to neck and shoulder pain and it can stay with them all day long. To prevent this pain from happening, one of the most important things to do is sleep on a neck pillow that provides sufficient and correct neck support. Waking up feeling refreshed without neck, shoulder or headache pain can often mean the difference between a “good” and a “bad” day.
